Peru Cordillera Escalera-Loreto: Rapid Biological and Social Inventories: 26
Sinopsis del Libro
The Cordillera Escalera mountain range on the Loreto-San Martín border in Amazonian Peru was hardly known to scientists until the September 2013 expedition described in this report. The book includes an in-depth description of the history, daily life, and natural resource use of local Shawi communities, richly illustrated with >100 color photographs, as well as the results of rapid inventories of geology, plants, fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals in the Cordillera Escalera. Also discussed are threats to and opportunities for the landscape and its people, and recommendations for sustaining biological diversity and human wellbeing in this megadiverse region of Peru. The entire report is in English and Spanish, with an overview in Shawi.
